Biography

Mayor Bob Stone is beginning his third term on Beavercreek’s City Council. Stone was born in 1949 and has lived in Beavercreek since 1953. He graduated from Beavercreek High School in 1967 and was inducted into the school’s hall of fame in 2005.

Mayor Stone attended Wright State University in the late 1960s and then served in Vietnam for 18 months. During his time in the military, Stone received numerous awards, including a Bronze Star Medal for "Meritorious Achievement in Ground Operations Against Hostile Forces."

After being discharged from the military in 1972, Stone worked for the Montgomery County Health Department while resuming classes at Wright State University. He then became certified as a State Registered Sanitarian, and in 1979, began his own business that he owned and operated for 36 years.

Over the years, Stone has been very active in the community and served on several boards and committees, including the Board of Directors for the Epilepsy Foundation, Board of Directors for the Beavercreek Enrichment Association (Senior Center), Beavercreek Veterans’ Memorial Committee, Board of Directors for the Beavercreek Chamber of Commerce, Ethics Board for the Greene County Bar Association, Beavercreek Board of Zoning Appeals, Beavercreek Planning Commission, Beavercreek City Council, and Beavercreek Township Trustee. Today, he is serving his eighth year as Mayor of the wonderful City of Beavercreek. Stone was honored to be inducted into the 2022 Ohio Veterans’ Hall of Fame and the 2023 Greene County Veterans’ Hall of Fame.

Mayor Stone has accomplished several noteworthy projects in the city, including coordinating the donation and development of the Charles and Anna May Lofino Enrichment Center (Beavercreek Senior Center), working on the Beavercreek Veterans’ Memorial, supporting the Greene Town Center, and achieving the long-awaited Fairfield Road Interchange and a new City maintenance facility.

More recently, Stone is proud of his role in helping Beavercreek overcome the devastation from the 2019 tornadoes, recovery following the COVID-19 pandemic, making changes to the city’s charter to allow for the direct election of the mayor, and maintaining a steady funding base for the city. Stone also volunteers for the city as a driver for the Beavercreek Senior Center’s transportation service.

On the first Thursday of every month, Mayor Stone hosts a networking event at local establishments where guests have the opportunity to share “what’s new in their world” and form connections with others in the community.

Stone and his wife Margaret are celebrating their 50th anniversary and have one son who lives in Beavercreek. They are proud to be a part of the community and call Beavercreek home!
