A resident has requested and filed for a zoning code change, which would allow up to 6 chickens in residential areas with a lot size of at least 15,000 square feet. It also permits a chicken coup with certain criteria. Current zoning code only allows chickens or non-domesticated or farm animals in agriculturally zoned properties.

The Planning Commission passed the zoning code change. The next step in the process is a public hearing on September 14, 2020 at the City Council meeting.
