Auditor of State presents highest financial reporting award to City of Beavercreek

award

The City of Beavercreek has been presented with the Ohio Auditor of State Award with Distinction for the City’s Comprehensive Annual Financial Report (CAFR), fiscal year ending 2020.

On behalf of Ohio Auditor of State Keith Faber, Joseph Braden presented the award to Beavercreek Mayor Bob Stone and Financial Administrative Services Director Bill Kucera at the city council meeting on Monday, August 23.

At the council meeting, Braden stated the auditor’s state office audits nearly 6,000 entities a year and only 4 percent are eligible for this award. In order to be eligible for this award, the city must have a clean report, with no significant deficiencies or findings, no material citations or weaknesses, no single audit findings (grant reporting), and no questionable costs.

“I want to recognize all the council members, the mayor, city manager, who have all done a fantastic job watching over every dollar here in the City of Beavercreek,” Braden said. “I also would like to recognize Bill Kucera, the finance director, for his exceptional commitment to fiscal integrity.”

The City of Beavercreek has received the Ohio Auditor of State Award with Distinction for the last 11 years. This demonstrates the City’s diligence in maintaining outstanding stewardship of residents’ taxes and its continual goal in reporting these results according to the highest government accounting standards now and in the future.
