Park Features

A highlight of Veterans Memorial Park is a granite monument that stands at an impressive height of 23 feet and boasts a weight of 33,000 pounds. Crafted from sleek black granite, the column serves as a solemn tribute to the countless Americans who have selflessly dedicated their lives in service to their country. 

A brass globe adorns the monument, symbolizing the extensive reach of American service throughout the world. The flame inside the globe serves as a poignant reminder of the eternal memory we hold for our veterans, honoring their unwavering commitment and sacrifices. A striking brass eagle stands tall atop the monument, embodying the cherished principles of freedom.

The monument’s design thoughtfully incorporates five sides, each symbolizing a branch of the armed forces. This representation signifies the unity and cooperation among these distinguished military branches, as they work together to safeguard our nation’s security and uphold its values. The base of the monument is in the shape of a five-pointed star. This feature pays homage to the branches of the armed forces, unifying their individual contributions into a single, cohesive narrative.

The Walk of History accompanies the monument, guiding visitors through pivotal chapters of American history, including the Civil War, World War I, World War II, the Korean War, and Vietnam War. 

The park is an extraordinary testament to the valor and dedication of American servicemen and women. The space fosters remembrance and instills a profound appreciation for the sacrifices made by our veterans.

Services are held every year on Memorial Day and Veterans Day at 2 p.m.
