Biography
Joanna L. Garcia was elected to her first term on Beavercreek City Council, as Vice Mayor, in November 2017. She serves as the City’s Representative on the Miami Valley Regional Planning Commission and previously served on the Greene County Family and Children First Committee.
Joanna serves the community in a number of roles in addition to serving as Beavercreek Vice-Mayor. She is an active member of St. Luke Parish as a current member of the Pastoral Council, Lector, Eucharistic Minister, and former Catechist. She also volunteers her time cooking meals for St. Vincent DePaul. Additionally, Joanna formerly served on the Executive Council for the John Pirelli Lodge and as an advisor to the UD Chapter of the Chi Omega Fraternity. She is also an alumni of the Dayton Bar Association Leadership Development Program and Leadership Dayton.
Joanna is a proud graduate of The Ohio State University and University of Dayton School or Law, where she continues to mentor law students in partnership with the Greater Dayton Area Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Legal Roundtable. She also works as the Discovery Attorney Manager at WilmerHale and at the University of Dayton School of Law as an Academic Success Coach and Bar Grader for the Road to Bar Passage Program.
