Biography
Councilman Pete Bales is married to Amanda and has two children, Jack and Cara. Bales, a lifelong resident of Beavercreek and a 1990 graduate of Beavercreek High School, earned a Bachelor’s of Science degree in Education from The Ohio State University in 1994.
Following college, Bales initiated his municipal career with the City of Beavercreek in the Parks, Recreation & Culture Department. He dedicated almost seven years to the City of Beavercreek before assuming the role of Parks and Recreation Director in Fairborn. After a decade in the parks and recreation field, Pete progressed to become the Public Administrative Services Director, overseeing the engineering, streets, water and sewer, equipment maintenance, and parks and recreation departments. In 2015, he was promoted to Assistant City Manager, where he supervised the human resources and information technology departments and spearheaded various special economic development projects on behalf of the city.
In 2019, Bales established his consulting firm, Local Gov Consultants, actively assisting numerous local governments with administrative, project management, economic development, and planning issues. The motto of his business, "It's not about competition, it's about collaboration. It's not about politics, it's about public service. It's about listening to your community, really hearing your people, and getting things done," seamlessly aligns with his political objectives as a Beavercreek City Councilman.
Pete actively participates in the community, having volunteered on the Beavercreek Parks and Recreation Master Plan Committee, the Beavercreek Golf Club Advisory Board, at Owens Place, and on his Homeowners Association Board.
