Activities & Programs

The Senior Center offers a variety of activities and programs, most of which are listed below.

Monday Activities

  • Exercise tapes start at 9 - 10 a.m.
  • Live exercise instruction starts at 11:30 a.m.
  • Line dancing for:
    • Beginners begins at 1:30 p.m.
    • Advanced begins at 2:30 p.m.
The second Monday of each month has The Red Shirt Guys meeting for breakfast at a variety of local restaurants, and the very popular Red Hotties Group getting together for lunch.

Tuesday Activities

  • Artist Ron Lee provides the instruction for a drop in art class at 10 a.m.
  • Pool group for all levels meets at 1 p.m.
  • Bid Euchre meets from 10 a.m. - 12 p.m. in the game room.
  • The Greene County Council on Aging (GCCOA) provides staff on the second and fourth Tuesdays at 9:30 a.m. to offer our care givers group. This group is designed to assist people providing care for their loved one, and as a group shares their support with each other.

Wednesday Activities

  • Exercise tapes begin at 9 - 10 a.m.
  • Live exercise instruction begins at 11:30 a.m.
  • Bridge is at 12:30 p.m.
  • Corn hole is at 1 p.m.
  • Dominoes is at 2 p.m.
  • Big Boy / Girl Pool Tournament is at 9:15 a.m.
  • Mah Jongg is from 9:30 a.m. - 12:15 p.m.

Thursday Activities

  • Drop in pool at 10 a.m.
  • Beavercreek Strummer practice begins at 9:30 a.m.
  • Bingo meets every first and third Thursday from 1 - 3 p.m.
  • Knitting Class: Knit Wits is a beginning knitting class meeting at 2 - 3:30 p.m.
GCCOA professional staff sends a Care Coordinator on the 1st and 3rd Thursday of the month from 9 a.m. - 12 p.m. This is service provides seniors the opportunity to meet to discuss any difficulties they may be having like needing help with Medicare D forms as well as assistance in many other areas of need for seniors. You may call the GCCOA at 937-376-5486 to schedule an appointment or come by the center on the Thursday she is scheduled.

Friday Activities

  • Exercise tapes begin at 9 - 10 a.m.
  • Live exercise instruction begins at 11:30 a.m.
  • Euchre meets on Fridays from 1 - 3:30 p.m. and again is open to anyone who would like to drop in and play.
  • The first Friday of the month is chicken and game night. Those who sign up and pay $1 by 12 p.m. the Thursday before may come at 6 p.m. and enjoy chicken. The fun and games begin at 7 p.m. with anything from cards, pool, dominoes, scrabble, corn hole, and more!
  • On the third Friday of the month, the Warm-Up America meets at 1 p.m. This group provides afghans, lap blankets, and more for the homeless and other folks in need of such items.

Groups, Clubs & Organizations

  • The National Active and Retired Federal Employees Associations (NARFE) meets the second Thursday of each month at 1:30 p.m. at the center.
  • Red Hotties Group meets the second Monday of the month at 12 p.m.
  • Red Shirt Guys meet every second Monday of the month at 9 a.m.
