[ARCHIVED] Engineering Department Hosting 3 Public Involvement Meetings in July

Engineering Meeting

The City of Beavercreek’s Engineering Department is hosting a series of public involvement meetings in July, providing residents with an opportunity to share their comments and feedback regarding three upcoming projects. All three meetings will take place at Beavercreek City Hall, located at 1368 Research Park Drive.

Vineland Trail Project

The first public involvement meeting will take place on Thursday, July 13, from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. The focus of this project is in the Vineland Trail area, situated north of The Greene and off of Countyline Road. Erosion issues have created a large ditch with steep drop-offs and exposed utilities behind several homes. To address this issue, the city has dedicated approximately $1.75 million of federal funds from the American Rescue Plan Act to this project. The project’s objective is to restore stability and rehabilitate the ditch effectively. More information about this project can be found here.

Dayton-Xenia Road Widening Project

The second public involvement meeting will be held on Tuesday, July 18, from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. This meeting will focus on widening a portion of Dayton-Xenia Road from Meadow Bridge Drive to Darlington Drive. The project aims to widen the road to five lanes, including two through lanes in each direction, as well as a center turn lane from Meadow Bridge to Hanes Road. Additionally, the section from Hanes Road to Darlington Drive will undergo changes, transitioning from five to three lanes at Darlington Drive. This section will incorporate a center turn lane along with curb, gutter, storm sewer, and sidewalks on both sides. More information about this project can be found here.

Willowcrest Road Project

The final public involvement meeting will take place on Tuesday, July 25, from 5 to 7 p.m. This meeting will address the pressing stormwater issues in the Woodhaven subdivision along Grange Hall Road, specifically along Willowcrest Road. Residents in this area have long struggled with drainage problems, experiencing flooding and water entering their homes after heavy rainfall. To alleviate these concerns, the city has dedicated approximately $2.4 million to this project, of which approximately $2 million is federal funds from the American Rescue Plan Act. The project’s objective is to construct two detention ponds, install a drainage swale, and implement a comprehensive storm sewer system in the area. More information about this project can be found here.

If residents are unable to attend, the city has also made provisions for submitting comments and feedback through the project's webpage on the city’s website. For additional questions or information regarding these projects, contact the city’s engineering department at (937) 427-5513.
