CITY OF BEAVERCREEK TORNADO IMPACTED AREA PROPERTY OWNERS

Please see the hard copy Press Release concerning the last put-out date of July 28, 2019 for tree and brush debris. We are hoping this mailed letter gets to those property owners displaced by the tornado event through forwarded mail or post office pick-ups or those property owners who are not residents. Please forward or share this information with anyone in need of this information.
It is amazing how far recovery efforts have come, but we know it will take some time. Many properties have completed their tree and brush debris clean-up but there are some where much still needs to be done. There are many different possible reasons that clean-up efforts haven’t begun, but with the last tree and brush put-out date of July 28, 2019, we wanted to notify property owners in the impacted area of the last put-out late in order for them to take advantage of the FREE pick-up of tree and brush debris removal.
The overwhelming support of volunteers has been incredible and there are still many volunteers wanting to assist, but they will NOT go on private property without permission. The City has been contacted by Aysha Osten with Beavercreek Tornado Network. There are many residents concerned about properties not being cleaned up for various unknown reasons. She has volunteered to be the point of contact for those still in need of assistance. Please take advantage of receiving the free tree and brush pick-up and offers of volunteer assistance while it lasts!

Properties that are not making progress towards clean-up including construction and tree and brush debris, especially in the right of way, will be followed up on by the City of Beavercreek Code Enforcement Officer starting in mid-August for property status. It will be vital that the right of way be cleared of all types of debris for safety reasons and for the upcoming winter season, which will be upon us faster than we want. Final Put-Out Date for Tree and Brush Debris from Memorial Day Tornado
The City of Beavercreek, Beavercreek Township and Greene County Engineer have set a last “Put-Out” date of July 28, 2019 for tree and brush debris from the Memorial Day tornado event. If residents in the tornado impacted area have their tree and brush debris put-out to the right of way on or before July 28, 2019, the city, township or county will ensure pick-up of the organic debris in the right of way in the impacted area only. The last put-out date of July 28th is nearly two months after the damaging tornado and is three weekends away. Construction debris is not being collected and organic debris must continue to be separated from construction debris to avoid the organic material from not being collected.
City, township and county trucks are not necessarily running daily, depending on the need, therefore if you have tree and brush debris that hasn’t been picked up for some period of time, please contact your jurisdiction: City of Beavercreek Public Services at (937) 427-5540, Beavercreek Township Road Department at (937) 429-3672 or the County Engineer at (937) 562-7500.
For those currently desiring to drop-off their own organic material and for everyone after July 28, 2019, residents can drop-off their tree and brush debris at the Greene County Environmental Services Yard Waste Center located at 2145 Greene Way Blvd. in Xenia for NO CHARGE. Environmental Services operating hours are Monday through Thursday 1:00 pm to 8:00 pm, Saturday 9:00 am to 4:00 pm and closed Fridays and can be reached at (937) 562-5925 or can visit: www.co.greene.oh.us/recycle.
Construction Debris
We continue to encourage residents to check with their insurance company regarding construction debris removal as many policies have some level of coverage, not including deductibles.
Construction debris (material that was part of a structure) can be taken to Xenia Demolition Landfill at 610 Dayton-Xenia Road in Xenia. Fees apply, please contact 937-372-2978.
Construction debris and household trash can be taken to the Montgomery County Transfer Facility at 1001 Encrete Lane in Moraine. Fees apply, contact 937-225-4999 or www.mcswd.org.
Please contact the facilities for specifics about materials accepted and costs.
Finally, we encourage residents to meet with FEMA and the Small Business Administration (SBA), please don’t wait. Ask your questions now, while they are here.
