[ARCHIVED] Election Signs!

Election Signs

  • Signs are only permitted to be placed on private property, WITH OWNER PERMISSION.

  • All signs require a zoning permit.  Permit Application Link: http://www.beavercreekohio.gov/DocumentCenter/View/1333/Election-Sign-Permit The application provides more details on the rules as well as detailed maps.

  • Signs must be placed outside of the public right-of-way, which is generally behind the sidewalk or at least 15’ back from the edge of the pavement. (If there is a street sign of any kind or streetscape landscaping in the area the sign is being placed, that is public right-of-way and the sign should not be placed there.)

  • In commercial districts, each property is only permitted three small elections signs and one large sign, regardless of the size of the property. (For example: At the corner of Kemp and N. Fairfield Road, that property is allowed one, 16 square foot sign, and three, 6 square foot signs.) If the property has reached its maximum allowed signs, no additional sign permits shall be granted for that property.

Please make your campaign staff/volunteers aware of these rules to reduce the number of illegal signs throughout the City.  If you have any questions, call the Planning & Development Department at 937 427-5512.
