Effective Friday, March 20, 2020 at 5PM, the City of Beavercreek will be operating under a State of Emergency as declared by Mayor Stone. What does this State of Emergency by Beavercreek mean? It gives the city the ability to respond to critical events at maximum speed and efficiency, allows for tracking and potential federal reimbursement/funding, reinforces city powers to perform tasks needed because of the emergency, and provides flexibility with collective bargaining agreements. Additionally, it aligns with The State of Ohio, Greene County, and nearly all other Greene County cities who have also declared emergencies.
Coinciding with the State of Emergency, the city will be moving to essential personnel only including the Police Department and other essential city functions. The City of Beavercreek realizes the importance of maintaining a healthy workforce, especially during times of potential stress and risk of exposure to infectious disease. It is critical the city protect the workforce, first for the safety of the employees, and also to prevent undue disruptions to staffing, resulting in diminished delivery of service. This is being balanced with the need to protect the City’s investment in our vast infrastructure, such as the Beavercreek Golf Club, which may potentially require costly repairs, if not maintained at a minimum level throughout the emergency.
All city buildings, with the exception of the Police Department, will remain closed to the public until further notice. Access to the Beavercreek Police Department will be controlled and limited to essential business only. Screening will occur before access is granted. Past occurred, non-emergency report filing can be done on-line through the police webpage by clicking on the Coplogic link or an officer can take your report by phone by calling the police non-emergency number at (937) 426-1225. The City Council meeting on March 23, 2020 has been cancelled.
Other changes in city operations include:
- Senior Center, senior programs and transportation, closed until May 4, 2020
- City Parks, open to the public but restroom facilities are closed.
- All City Park recreational programming and shelter/field reservations, closed through April 30, 2020.
- Beavercreek Golf Club (food and beverage, facility rentals, and golf course), closed through April 30, 2020.
- Engineering and Planning & Development permits need to be processed on-line at https://ci-beavercreek-oh.smartgovcommunity.com/Public/Home.
During this emergency period of time, city staff will do our best to meet residents’ needs, however there may be delays. City staff will still be available to assist in answering questions by telephone.

The ODH coronavirus disease 2019 call center can be reached at 1-833-4-ASK-ODH. ODH staffers operate the center seven days a week from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. daily, including weekends. Call center staff includes licensed nurses and infectious disease experts. They are available to answer questions and provide accurate information about COVID-19, the risk to the public, and the state’s response.
