The art of two local watercolor artists will be on display at The Gallery at Lofino Plaza throughout the month of December.
Marge Anderson has been interested in art from an early age. Watercolor was her least favorite medium, but after retiring and taking numerous classes and workshops, watercolor has become her favorite form of painting.
Anderson loves the unpredictability and softness of watercolor. Her paintings reflect her love of flowers, lighthouses and whimsical scenes. Anderson is currently a member of the Women’s TriArt Society.
She is a long-time resident of Beavercreek and a graduate of Beavercreek High School.
Shirley Sawyers grew up in Rochester, New York. Because of her husband’s military career, she has lived several places, including Virginia, Michigan, Germany, Okinawa and New York. After retirement, the family settled in Beavercreek.
Sawyers lost vision in one of her eyes twenty years ago, which made painting more of a challenge, but her family and friends kept her motivated. She has since learned to enjoy the journey. Sawyers is also a member of the Women’s TriArt Society.
The Beavercreek Senior Center is open Monday through Thursday from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m., Friday 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., and Saturday 9 a.m. to Noon.
