[ARCHIVED] Beavercreek Golf Club Begins Phase 2 of Bunker Renovation in July 2024

Golf Club

The Beavercreek Golf Club is preparing to begin the second phase of its extensive bunker renovation project. This three-phase initiative, designed to be completed in 2025, will revitalize all bunkers on the course, ensuring they complement the course’s existing contours, reduce maintenance needs, and enhance playability.

The project’s phased approach was strategically planned to manage the club’s budget effectively and accommodate its busy golf schedule. Phase two, which will take approximately four to six weeks to complete, will focus on bunkers on holes six, seven, eight, and potentially one additional hole.

Key renovation details include reshaping bunkers to align with the landscape, improving visual appeal and playability, and removing or shifting bunkers as necessary. Old sand and compromised drainage systems will be replaced, new drain tiles installed, and a two-inch layer of polymer-bonded gravel will be added to create a durable base for the new sand.

During construction, golfers can expect to see construction equipment on the course. The club plans to minimize disruptions by avoiding construction activities on weekends and implementing temporary greens and tees as needed to ensure safety and continuous play. Staff will utilize additional measures to maintain playability and safety, including modified GPS settings for carts, posted signs, and designated no-entry areas during critical construction phases.

The Beavercreek Golf Club is committed to completing the bunker renovation with minimal disruption to golfers. The club's proactive planning and communication efforts aim to ensure a smooth transition during this essential upgrade, ultimately enhancing the overall golfing experience for its guests.

Phase two of the renovation marks a significant step forward in the club's vision to create a more visually appealing and playable course. The final phase of improvements is scheduled for completion in 2025.
