The City of Beavercreek is proud to announce the promotion of Captain Chad Lindsey to Chief of Police. Chief Lindsey was officially sworn in by Mayor Don Adams on January 13, 2025.
A graduate of the University of Dayton with a bachelor’s degree in Criminal Justice Studies, Chief Lindsey brings more than two decades of experience, dedication, and leadership to his new role. His commitment to professional development is reflected in his completion of prestigious leadership programs, including the Supervisors Training and Education Program (STEP), Police Executive Leadership College (PELC), Certified Law Enforcement Executive Program (CLEE), and the Public Safety Leadership Academy (PSLA) through the John Glenn School of Public Affairs at The Ohio State University.
Chief Lindsey joined the Beavercreek Police Department in August 2002 as a patrol officer and has since held a variety of roles, including evidence technician, technical crash investigator (TCI), officer-in-charge (OIC), Regional Emergency Response Team (RERT) negotiator, and detective. As a detective, he became a certified polygraph examiner in 2014. He earned promotions to patrol sergeant in 2015 and captain in 2016, where he commanded the Investigations (now Special Services), Support Services, and Operations Divisions, while also serving as the CALEA accreditation manager from 2022 to 2024.
Throughout his career, Chief Lindsey has received numerous accolades, including department commendations, a Meritorious Service Award, Miami Valley Crime Stoppers “Officer of the Year,” and a Chief’s Award of Merit.
During the swearing-in ceremony, Chief Lindsey expressed his gratitude and vision for the department. “I am truly blessed and appreciative to have this opportunity,” he said.
Addressing the members of the department, he added, “I’m inspired and thankful every day by your commitment to our team and for your dedication and sacrifices you make for this community. We work in a job where every single day we have the privilege to make a positive impact in the community and lives of citizens. That privilege comes with great responsibility, and we will continue to carry out our duties professionally, fairly, and always with respect and integrity.”
Chief Lindsey also reaffirmed his dedication to the residents of Beavercreek: “Our foundation is strong, and we will continue to build on it by remaining focused and diligent with our enforcement efforts, maintaining the relationships we share with our law enforcement and community partners, enhancing our department through recruiting, ongoing training and education, and health and wellness support… and by ensuring the safety and security of our schools, places of worship, businesses, and neighborhoods.”
The city congratulates Chief Lindsey on his well-deserved promotion and looks forward to his continued leadership in ensuring the safety and well-being of the Beavercreek community.
