[ARCHIVED] 2017 Resurfacing Program Update

2017 Resurfacing Update: Bids for the project were opened in late March. The Engineering department has been busy marking streets in preparation for this year’s program, which will begin in May with base repairs and curb ramp upgrades. Street resurfacing will follow after these repairs are completed in mid-May to early June.

There are various markings for different items that are part of the program. These markings mean the following:

BR = Base Repair: dig out and repair portions of the roadway that have failed

BJ = Butt Joint: a milled joint to match into existing pavement of the adjacent roadway

Mill = mill out a certain depth of asphalt and replace with that depth

Pave = this is just an overlay with no milling

OUPS = this is a mark for utility protection services to know where to locate for curb ramps that are to be upgraded with the program

X = curb ramp and/or sidewalk leading to the ramp to be replaced to meet current ADA requirements

Below are examples of these types of markings.

For questions regarding the resurfacing program, please contact the Engineering Department at (937) 427-5513.
