[ARCHIVED] The City of Beavercreek Parks, Recreation & Culture Department hosting a Playground Open Forum

Playground Forum

The City of Beavercreek Parks, Recreation & Culture Department will be hosting a Playground Open Forum to preview two (2) playground structures that will be installed at Gerspacher and Rotary Parks.  The open forum will be held Tuesday, April 3, 2018 at Lofino Plaza Meeting Room, 3868 Dayton-Xenia Road, Beavercreek OH, from 5:30 – 7:00 P.M.

The purpose of the forum is to provide information to interested citizens and to solicit input about the parks.  During the open forum staff will also be looking for input for structures to be placed at Merrick Park.  Attendees will be able to view photos of the proposed equipment during the forum.

“We are excited to have input for our park projects.  We have been blessed to have great community support and look forward to keeping the communication open.  We pride ourselves on great parks and will continue to Take Care of What We Have,” stated Kim Farrell, Parks, Recreation, & Culture Superintendent.

The Parks Department passed a levy in 2015; since this time they have been improving and replacing playgrounds that have outlived their life span.  Playgrounds that have been improved in the last couple years are C.I. Beaver Park, Shoup Park and Spicer Heights.  Other capital projects include large shade structure over Royal Pointe Park, new tennis courts, new additions to the skate park, walking paths through Wartinger Park, replacement of shelter at Grangeview Acres, playground surfacing at Virgallito Park and the Lofino Plaza expansion.  New park signs have also been installed throughout numerous parks.

This summer Parks, Recreation & Culture will be updating their 10-year Master Plan.  Watch for public input forums and surveys to get community input on what direction they would like to see the parks go.
